Team Medulla Co dominated this year’s Heart of Fashion Event. Yorkville’s stellar stylists Gil, Saina, and Sophia were joined by Queen West superstars Kelly, Jacinta, and September, styling all models working the runway.
Articles from designers Narces, Tomé Dress Salon, Maram, David Dixon, Mayer Man, Mani Jassal, ZOFF, Mikael D, King & Bay Bespoke and Lilliput Hats appeared on the runway as well as jewellery from prominent Toronto designers Rita Tesolin and Alan Anderson.
Our girl Sophia sculpted tousled perfection.
We did a quick Q&A; here’s what she had to say about the look.
How would you best describe this style?
Not quite straight but definitely not curly. It’s beautifully tousled and beachy on its own.
Adding a twist of the two front sections of her hair and pinning them in the back creates the illusion of a simple yet romantic half-up style.
Given there was no hair test for this show – how did that change your prepping process?
The inspiration pictures that were given to us allowed me to know exactly what I needed to recreate the look in terms of product and tools.
What do you love about this look?
On a formal occasion, half-up hairstyles with a soft wavy look are a great option.
Pinning some hair up allows you to keep some length around your face, but still have the structure of having an updo.
Loose, wavy hair makes a girl look relaxed approachable and classy at the same time.
